| Your Dreams Will Come True: ‘Enchanted 2’ Is Heading Our Way!
In 2007, Disney found themselves with a new mega-hit that was called Enchanted. The movie took that classic Disney hand-drawn cartoon vibe, and brought it to a live-action modern day New York City. The movie went on to make $340 million worldwide, so fans will be thrilled to know that the studio is going full-steam ahead on a sequel, Enchanted 2. Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Susan Sarandon starred in the original, but none are currently confirmed to be returning or not. You can be sure, however, that Disney will be going after them all aggressively. Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld are returning as producers on the sequel, but aside from that, the crew will be all new. Jessie Nelson has been brought in to write the screenplay, and Anne Fletcher will be directing this time around.

| ‘Avatar’ Does The Impossible, Passes ‘Titanic’ Domestic Box Office Record |
 |

Many people seemed skeptical of Avatar and the unbelievable budget that it had actually being able to perform well at the box office. Considering it was a James Cameron movie, expectations were that it would make a whole lot of money, but would it be enough to pull in a worthy enough profit? Since its release, Avatar has been breaking records left and right — including the all-time worldwide record — while making more than enough bank at the box office to prove many times over that it was all worth it. Though the success was undeniable, it was Cameron’s other blockbuster, Titanic, and its domestic record that up until this point was simply untouchable. But shockingly, Avatar has now officially reached the $601 million mark, passing Titanic‘s previously immortal $600 million mark, and the amazing thing about it all is that it did it pretty quietly. We all knew the movie was destroying the box office, but to hit all-time #1 in both domestic and worldwide already is mind-blowing.

 |
Recently, The Wrap did a story on the new 3D technology and the vice-grip hold it has on the world of Hollywood. As we are all very much aware, it feels like every single movie that’s made these days is released in 3D, and in a lot of cases, we find ourselves asking the question “Why?” over and over again. In this new article, it is revealed that apparently Ridley Scott himself is “breathing down the necks” of executives at Universal to spend an extra $7-8 Million to make a 3D version of his upcoming period action/drama, Robin Hood. This is obviously one of the more confusing titles that we’ve heard associated with the 3D phenomena, and it lead us to begin wondering when this whole technology has just gone too far?
Many big names in the business have laid solid claim to 3D being the future of cinema, but judging by the collective feelings of movie fans, it is unclear whether this is what people want. There’s no doubt at all that when it comes to films like Avatar, which is built specifically for that technology, and fun movies like Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, 3D can be a really great time. But when this is happening so often that a movie like Robin Hood is even joining the party, you can’t help but think it’s only a matter of time before we see movies like Steven Spielberg‘s Abraham Lincoln biopic Lincoln getting in line for some 3D action. That’s just too much.
