Transformers

MichaelBay.com has decided to release some new footage for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen that was originally seen at the ShoWest film festival. The footage is kind of a mixture of trailer and clip: it opens with a clip from what’s most likely the beginning of the movie where Sam (Shia Labeouf) breaks the news to Bumblebee that he’s going off to college alone; and then finishes off with a bunch of quick-fire shots from the movie.

This is must-see stuff here, folks. The beginning clip is nothing mind-blowing, but all fans have to see the collection of clips that follows — in particular, pay close attention at around the 2:06 mark of this video and I guarantee your jaw drops like mine did.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen follows Sam Witwicky and his discovery of the ancient origins of the Transformers. Because of this discovery, the Decepticons go all-out in an attempt to capture him while Optimus Prime joins forces with multiple armies to fight and save all humans.

The List: What ‘Bots You’ll See In ‘Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen’

Ravage

Multiple sources have received an interesting little list — a list that apparently shares the names and descriptions of all of the robots that we will see in the upcoming Michael Bay blockbuster, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

One noted absence is the name Megatron, which is kind of a head-scratcher even with the fact that he got dumped in the ocean at the end of the first. The first thing that comes to mind with things like this, is the fact that Michael Bay openly admitted that everything that came out about the movie over the course of production would be a flat-out lie. I assume most of these, if not all of them, are true, but there’s a gut feeling that it’s not a complete list is all I’m saying.

The most intriguing two are The Fallen, and obviously Devastator. The Fallen definitely sounds like he could be one scary presence and Devastator you need only gauge Steven Spielberg‘s quoted reaction to him featured below!

Transformers 2

Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks have gone ahead and set July 1, 2011 as the possible release date for Transformers 3.

Though the thought of plans for a third movie already moving forward is pretty exciting, don’t get too far ahead of yourselves and mark off those calendars. Insiders at Paramount have said that this is not official scheduling, but simply just planning ahead a little and obtaining the date. If Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen scores its expected mammoth numbers at the box office, and if a third movie is officially announced, they will look then at this date and solidify it if it’s the best date. If it doesn’t work, then they’ll likely move it to another date — but don’t count on this, as they absolutely love their 4th of July dates. If it’s changed at all, it would probably be to 2012, and we all know what happens in 2012 unless John Cusack saves the day.

‘Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen’ Teaser Trailer

Transformers 2The new teaser trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has debuted online. This is coming off the very explosive (literally) Super Bowl TV spot, and already, they’ve one-upped themselves.

The teaser starts off showing a bunch of fireballs of debris raining down through buildings and even tearing apart a massive aircraft carrier. Then we see that this debris is actually a horde of angry bots who are obviously on some sorta mission. This sets in motion a collection of shots of screaming, scared faces, and some big f’n robots wreaking havoc — including the gigantic bot at the end, throwing around Optimus Prime like a kid playing with his Transformers. (See what I did there? Gold Sticker for me.)

One very interesting thing that I noticed about the trailer is that it’s surprisingly dark for the type of movie it is. We’re used to director Michael Bay selling his movies based on huge explosions and car chases, which are obviously going on full-force here — but there’s also usually a hint of that panicky, “I think we’re going to die” humor that’s always used plentifully in Bay’s movies. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like there’s more of a “we’re actually going to die” darker tone going on than we’re used to with Bay. Good times.
