For the first time ever, Universal Studios Orlando is offering up selections from their theme park exclusive merchandise for sale online, including items from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

The new online shop, located at The Universal Store, is selling products from both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

At The Wizarding World of Harry Potter section of the store, you can purchase Harry Potter books, movies, shirts, and toys, as well as items like Hogwarts robes and scarves, and Ollivanders wands. Check out the various sections of the WWHP part of the online store: Dervish and Banges, Filch’s Emporium, Ollivanders, Owl Post, and Zonko’s.

Along with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter merchandise, there’s products from other rides, attractions, and characters from the Universal Orlando theme parks, like the E.T. and Jurassic Park rides, along with Betty Boop and the Nickelodeon characters like SpongeBob SquarePants.

Rocker Bret Michaels is set to ring in the new year with a live performance at Universal Studios Orlando!

The Poison frontman and reality television star is scheduled perform a live New Year’s Eve concert at Universal’s CityWalk in Orlando, FL, part of the Universal Orlando Resort.

Tickets are now on sale for the New Year’s Eve block party event, which includes the Bret Michaels concert, as well as all-night admission to seven CityWalk clubs, all-you-can-eat gourmet cuisine, and a midnight champagne toast.

Universal CityWalk’s New Year’s Eve celebration will take place from 8pm – 2am on December 31, 2010. Tickets are $119.99 plus tax per person if purchased by Dec. 27; from Dec. 28 to Dec. 31, the price increases to $139.99 plus tax per person. Special discounts are available for Universal Orlando Annual Passholders. There are simply millions of hobbies you can spend your time on in the world like comics, movies, video games, oh yeah, and building your own Delorean Time Machine. That is right, I said it, you can build your own Delorean Time Machine. I remember a while back I was wondering what it would take to build your own Back To The Future Delorean and how much something like that would cost. Well one of the hardest parts is finding the actual vehicle itself. If you did happen to run across one and wanted to make yourself a replica, it is definitely possible.

Since fire ravaged and destroyed much of the Universal Studios Hollywood lot, we’ve been covering their progress. One of the more exciting plans was to rebuild the King Kong attraction that debuted in 1986 and was badly damaged in the blaze. Universal brought in the director of 2005’s King Kong, Peter Jackson, and they set out to make an amazing new attraction to their tour.

Since then, we’ve heard much about the new ride, and it’s been about as exciting sounding as anything else you could think of. And while it’s called “360 3-D,” it does have a lot more of a 4D feel to it, considering the movement and interaction involved.

If you’ve been at all interested in checking out the new King Kong attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, well…you’re now in luck. The ride is making its debut TODAY!

This weekend sees the 25th anniversary of the release of the first Back To The Future movie. We’ll be taking a look back at the film all this week, and what a great way to launch our Back To The Future Week of Geek event then with the news this today from Universal Studios regarding the release the Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Trilogy!

For the first time ever on Blu-ray, the Back To The Future trilogy will be released on October 26, 2010 and contain over two hours of new bonus features, including an all-new, six-part retrospective documentary featuring never-before-seen interviews with the cast, crew and filmmakers, including star Michael J. Fox.
