SDCC 2012: The Campaign panel

One of the many surprises of the day on Saturday in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con was Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis making a surprise appearance at the Warner Bros. panel to answer some fan questions about their upcoming movie The Campaign.

Ferrell and Galifianakis gave an aspiring comedian some advise and then showed off some footage from the film. Everyone was excited by the footage, which was mostly just the standard trailer, with a little bit of new footage added in. Ferrell showed off that he can still work a crowd, and Galifianakis is just as funny. Everyone in the room had a good time during this surprise visit.

Check out the photos of the stars from this panel.

Adam Sandler Teaming Up With Will Ferrell For The Football Comedy ‘Three Mississippi’

Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell

You’ve got to hand it Adam Sandler: the guy gets exorbitant salaries to make crappy comedies with his entourage of unfunny and untalented goons who think the words “pee-pee” and “poo-poo” are the height of hilarity, and every bit of pathetic schlock that goes out into theaters with Sandler’s name above the title often makes beaucoup bucks at the box office. The guy started out making comedies that were genuinely funny though extremely juvenile at first, but somewhere along the way he found out that it was easier to sell out and stick to a surefire formula for making movies that generate fast and plentiful profits in theaters and on video and cable.

The old Sandler – the guy who only cares about making people laugh and not just about satisfying his taste-deprived fan base – occasionally shows up for a fleeting moment, like the wonderful first two acts of Judd Apatow’s bloated Funny People, but then he disappears just as fast into another awful movie where he plays an overgrown manchild who loves to vomit, defecate on someone’s front lawn, and engage in acts of pointlessly absurd brutality that would only be truly hilarious to the lobotomized.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues

Although the teaser trailer for Anchorman: The Legend Continues was leaked early last week, I didn’t feel it was proper to bring you a trailer that was in poor quality… and leaked. Luckily the teaser trailers for the upcoming sequel has popped online today and you can take a look it here below. The Funny or Die teaser is a bit different from the one that was attached to The Dictator, but I think we could care less how different the two teasers are.

Like the teaser trailer for Skyfall, these teasers for the Anchorman sequel is effective and doesn’t need to go into detail about the plot – maybe that’s because news of a sequel broke in March. It also sets the tone by reminding us what makes this news team (Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Koechner) so hilarious. Everyone has their own hilarious phrase, except Brick of course, who seems to have trouble finding the words.

Anchorman

The gang from Adam McKay‘s Anchorman is coming back for a sequel and if Will Ferrell‘s announcement on Conan a few months back wasn’t enough, and they have shot a teaser trailer that will be attached to showings of The Dictator, it doesn’t get any more official than a teaser trailer. But the cherry on top with all this pre-production excitement is the brand new poster that has just appeared online. And if you have a news anchorman foot fetish, it’s just everything you want and more.

The new poster for the forthcoming Anchorman sequel confirms that the film will forgo the number in the title and have The Legend Continues in the subtitle. Other than that, the new poster looks like a cool way to sell some shoes. Check it out here below.

First Hilarious Trailer For Jay Roach’s Politically Charged Comedy ‘The Campaign’

The Campaign

After helming a couple of decent comedies like Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and Meet the Parents, director Jay Roach moved towards directing HBO’s political dramas like Recount and Game Change. Now, the director is combining all of that in The Campaign, starring Will Ferrell and Zack Galifianakis, and the first trailer for this politically charged comedy is now online.

We recently posted the political attack ads from both parties, but that was nothing when compared to how hysterical this trailer is. From catering to the most awkward groups and ritual snake biting to punching babies and having no sympathy after doing so, The Campaign is looking like it will be a hit comedy in a season that is surrounded by action blockbusters. You can check out the trailer below.
