The WWE is having it’s 32nd supercard this year in Texas at Jerry Jones’ AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys. Since 1985, Wrestlemania has been the Super Bowl for WWE and Chairman Vince McMahon. Like the Super Bowl, Wrestlemania has always had big time celebrity involvement. At the very first show celebs like Liberace, Muhammad Ali, and Cyndi Lauper were there, AND Mr. T wrestled in the main event tag match with partner Hulk Hogan. Over the following four decades, celebrities have been used as ring announcers, managers, interviewers, and most notably performers. NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor main evented Wrestlemania 11 in Hartford, Connecticut against Bam Bam Bigelow, while Maria Menounos of Extra and Access Hollywood participated in a tag team match at Wrestlemania 28. Just last year WWE used major celebrity street cred to sell it’s SummerSlam show in August, in the names of former Daily Show host Jon Stewart and Arrow star Stephen Amell. Well, just like his DC superhero character, you can’t seem to keep a good hero down. After a Comic Con confrontation, it seems Amell may be making his Wrestlemania debut this year against his arch nemesis, WWE wrestler, Stardust.
