It’s hard to argue when expectations are lived up to, no matter how low.
The first trailer for the upcoming sequel Journey 2: The Mysterious Island has hit, and it looks like utter garbage. Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Josh Hutcherson, and follows the story of an adventurer who teams with his stepfather to hunt down his grandfather, who himself is lost on a mysterious island. See, it all comes together.
Joking aside, this is a sequel to Journey To The Center Of The Earth 3D, and looks even worse than that pile of trash. The footage here looks cheap and ripped right out of the pages of any SyFy made for TV film. Hopes really couldn’t be lower for this thing, and this new trailer just lowered them even more.

No. No NO! I didn’t hate the Center of the Earth but Brandon Fraser didn’t help. Just like Keanu Reeves, you can insert Brandon Fraser into any role and his character will feel the “same” as all the others he’s played. Replacing Brandon Fraser? Not a bad move. Replacing him with The Rock? Not a good move! Dwayne Johnson has played some decent characters but none of them successful where family friendly films are concerned. Last ones I recall were Tooth Fairy (dreadful), Which Mountain and that cartoon about the astronaut an the Martians. I don’t know about this one…
