Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Looking To Join Michael Bay’s ‘Pain And Gain’?

If there has ever been a pairing as intriguing as this one, at least in the world of action films, I have yet to see it.

Variety is reporting that actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is eyeing the lead role in Michael Bay‘s upcoming film, Pain And Gain.

Mark Wahlberg is also being looked at to star alongside Johnson, in what is being described as a low budget crime flick following the story of a pair of bodybuilders that end up getting mixed up in an extortion ring. The film is being penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Personally, I couldn’t be more excited about this news. Johnson is just the type of actor to lead a project like this, and I must say, he’s also just the type of actor Bay needs. If there is one thing he’s been lacking in his films, it is a charismatic lead, and that’s exactly what Johnson truly is. Toss in a great writing team, and you have a film I’m really stoked for.

What do you think?
