Directed by Brad Peyton
Starring Dwayne Johnson, Jason Liles, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Warner Bros. Pictures
Release date: April 13, 2018

Rampage is what happens when you combine the monsters of Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla with the motion-capture effects of the Planet of the Apes franchise, and then add The Rock because why the heck not?! Rampage is exactly the type of movie you you want to watch on a way too cold Spring day. Films like this should be pictured in the dictionary next to the phrase “Popcorn Movie” and this is a perfect way to ignore the stress of life for 2 hours and turn your brain off. This is the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and giant monsters. If you read that and stop to think, you’re already working too hard.

Jumanji Starring The Rock, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Jack Black

It’s hard to say how fans will truly react to Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle. I had mixed feelings about the first trailer, and this new trailer doesn’t sway it in any direction. But in a day and age of reboots, a new take on Jumanji wasn’t a complete surprise.

In the new trailer, we get to see the traditional new footage and some more details on the evolution of the game, which in turn explains its world building. Now, four troublemaking high school students have become trapped in a video game of the same name, where they have become their chosen avatars. If you haven’t seen the first trailer, you get a sense of how these students chose characters that are not like themselves. So there’s that. Oh, and I guess Nick Jonas plays an ace pilot. Check out the full trailer here below.

Honest Trailer Fate And The Furious

In preparation for the Blu-ray release of yet another movie combining F-words and numbers, the gang at Screen Junkies dedicated this week’s Honest Trailer to The Fate of the Furious, the 8th installment in the franchise that is just as dumb, yet not as insulting as Transformers. Amazing to think, based on the last few films in this series, what they have become, but this franchise started with street racing criminals with a cop who had to infiltrate the gang… so basically Point Break with cars. Now the Furious squad has essentially outfit-less superheroes, even narrator Jon Bailey calls them “meta-humans,” and when they’re not speed racing, they’re being given super GI-Joe style government operations… yeah, I’m apparently one of the only ones who just can’t find the fun here. And when I say only ones, I mean it… this movie made $1.2 billion worldwide.

Check out the Honest Trailer below.
