Dwayne Johnson talking Black Adam for MTV UK

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is making the promotional rounds for his new movie San Andreas and the actor is never one to miss out on an opportunity to be entertaining and also take up serious discussions like “Could DC Comics’ villainous Black Adam take out Marvel Comics’ King of the Inhumans, Black Bolt?” According to Johnson, “Black Adam would crush Black Bolt.”

MTV UK was doing the interviewing that brings up the very serious subject matter and you can check out a video of it below. While the guys over at MTV think Johnson is “confused” and “adorable” about the Marvel universe. I myself can tell that The Rock is laying the sarcasm on thick.

Lip Sync Battle Jimmy Fallon vs The Rock Spike TV

Spike TV has turned one of Jimmy Fallon‘s best bits into its own show with Lip Sync Battle. Hosted by LL Cool J, the object of the game is to out lip-sync your opponent, with as much accuracy and excitement as you can.

Check out the videos below.

My personal favorite of all time, back on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, was when Joseph Gordon Levitt did “Superbass” by Nicky Minaj. That was magic.

And this new Spike show recreates this magic. Because who doesn’t want to see Dwayne Johnson lip-sync to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off”?

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Recently Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was dubbed the top-grossing star of 2013 by Forbes, beating out Robert Downey Jr. for the top spot thanks to his relentless work ethic. Johnson starred in a number of movies—the biggest of which was Fast & Furious 6, which scored $789 million at the box office—and keeps adding new future projects. When it was all said and done, Johnson’s movies had totaled $1.3 billion at the box office, edging out Downey Jr.’s $1.2 billion…all of which came from Iron Man 3.

Pain & Gain Poster OfficialPain & Gain
Director: Michael Bay
Screenwriter(s): Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely
Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Anthony Mackie, Bar Paly, Tony Shalhoub, Rebel Wilson
Paramount Pictures
Rated R | 130 Minutes
Release Date: April 26th, 2013

Unfortunately, Michael Bay‘s latest film, Pain & Gain, doesn’t star Optimus Prime or John Turturro – but don’t let that discourage you from seeing it – let “Directed by Michael Bay” do that.

The film is based on a series of Miami New Times articles surrounding the brutal kidnapping, extortion, torture, and murder of several victims by the “Sun Gym Gang,” a group of simple-minded bodybuilders turned incompetent criminals.

Mark Wahlberg stars as Daniel Lugo, a bodybuilder who works at the Sun Gym along with his friend Adrian Doorbal (Anthony Mackie). Sick of living the life of a personal trainer, Lugo concocts a plan to kidnap Victor Kershaw (Tony Shalhoub), a filthy-rich businessman, and extort money from him using any means necessary.

With the help of ex-con Paul Doyle (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), the Sun Gym Gang successfully gets Kershaw to sign over his riches. But when Kershaw survives an attempted murder by the gang, he hires private investigator Ed Du Bois (Ed Harris) to catch the criminals after the Miami Police Department dismisses Kershaw’s implausible story.

WE’RE BACK! This is Adam Frazier and you are listening to Skull-Face Island, the official movie podcast of Geeks of Doom! As always I’m joined by the Toad to my Wet Sprocket, David Allen… and the Island’s foremost expert on vintage racquetball goggles, producer Tim Grant.

Today on the Show: We’ll discuss Jon M. Chu’s latest film, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, as well as Danny Boyle‘s psychosexual thriller, Trance. We’ll also boot-up the Geek-O-Matic TeleFax for all the latest news on James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy and Christopher Nolan’s upcoming sci-fi thriller, Interstellar.

Finally, if you’ve been a regular listener of the show, you’ve probably noticed we’ve been absent over the past couple of weeks. Well, there’s a good reason for that – and you’ll hear all about it in today’s third segment where we talk to The Prince of Darkness himself, Satan. It looks like Hell is coming to Skull-Face Island… I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

GI Joe: Retaliation PosterG.I. Joe: Retaliation
Directed by Jon M. Chu
Screenplay by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick
Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, Ray Park, Bruce Willis
Paramount Pictures
Rated PG-13 | 110 Minutes
Release Date: March 28, 2013

Directed by Jon M. Chu (Step Up 3D), G.I. Joe: Retaliation is the sequel to Stephen Sommers’ instantly forgettable 2009 film, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

At the conclusion of that film, Zartan (Arnold Vosloo), having had his physical appearance altered by nanomites, infiltrates the White House and assumes the identity of the President of the United States of America (Jonathan Pryce).

Chu’s sequel begins with Zartan in control of the United States government. The master of make-up and disguise frames the G.I. Joes as traitors and launches an all-out attack on the Joes, wiping out their ranks (including Channing Tatum‘s Sgt. Duke) in one fell swoop.

Meanwhile, Storm Shadow (Lee Byung-hun) and Firefly (Ray Stevenson) infiltrate a top-secret subterranean prison to free Cobra Commander. Previously portrayed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the supreme leader of COBRA is played by Australian actor Luke Bracey this time around and voiced by Robert Baker.

Cobra Commander’s plan is simple: eliminate the world’s stockpile of nuclear weapons so COBRA can rule the world unopposed by using Zeus, a sub-orbital weapon of mass destruction that’s twice as powerful as a nuclear bomb.

If there has ever been a pairing as intriguing as this one, at least in the world of action films, I have yet to see it.

Variety is reporting that actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is eyeing the lead role in Michael Bay’s upcoming film, Pain And Gain.

Mark Wahlberg is also being looked at to star alongside Johnson, in what is being described as a low budget crime flick following the story of a pair of bodybuilders that end up getting mixed up in an extortion ring. The film is being penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

You know, when it comes to a man who could fit the title of Goliath, who better than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson?

Relativity and Temple Hill Entertainment think the same thing, as the pair have tapped Johnson for the role of Goliath in a new take on the biblical story David and Goliath with Taylor Lautner being eyed for the role of David, according to Twitch. Goliath will be helmed by The Day The Earth Stood Still director Scott Derrickson.
