Guillermo Del Toro originally had no intentions to release next year’s Pacific Rim in 3D. None. But WB’s decision to convert the film into 3D, seemed to have forced his hand. It was reported that WB did not even consult Del Toro on the decision to convert the film into 3D. Fans of course were outraged that a film that has been hyped since Comic-Con would be presented in 3D. But reports of WB excluding Del Toro out of the decision to convert Pacific Rim into 3D may have been slightly exaggerated. Now Del Toro is speaking out about the decision. Check out what he had to say below.

| Movie Review: Dredd 3D |
Dredd 3D
Directed by Pete Travis
Written by Alex Garland
Starring Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Wood Harris, Lena Headey, Domhnall Gleeson
Lionsgate | DNA Films
Rated R | 95 Minutes
Release Date: September 21, 2012
Created by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra, Judge Dredd first appeared in 1977 in the science-fiction anthology 2000 AD. A law enforcer given the power of judge, jury, and executioner, Dredd patrols the dystopian metropolis of Mega-City One, a vast city-state within a post-apocalyptic wasteland. In 1995, director Danny Cannon (I Still Know What You Did Last Summer) brought Judge Dredd to the big screen starring Sylvester Stallone, Diane Lane, Max von Sydow, and Rob Schneider – and yes, you read that correctly – that’s Deuce Bigalow Male Gigalo, not Roy Scheider of Jaws. Judge Dredd is pure ’90s cheese: a violent, effects-heavy movie that feels like the best parts of RoboCop and the worst parts of Demolition Man – the comic book equivalent to 1993’s Super Mario Bros. Looking back on it, if Stallone would have kept his helmet on – and if Rob Schneider wasn’t involved – it might have been a passable action movie. Luckily, Hollywood believes in second chances – especially if there’s money to be made. In a cinematic landscape post-Batman Begins, it seems everything is being rebooted or re-imagined with a dark, gritty, brooding twist.

Hugh Jackman has gone through some serious workouts to turn his body into everyone’s favorite lonesome mutant Wolverine. Now we are getting a first look at the results of those workout sessions. 20th Century Fox, via Ryan Penagos’ Twitter, has revealed the first image of a seriously ripped Jackman as Wolverine in James Mangold’s The Wolverine. The film will take place after the events of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where Logan finds himself in Tokyo, Japan trying to recall his lost memories. There he falls in love with a local woman and fights against the Yakuaza and a mutant Samurai.

| $5 MP3 Album Deal: Pearl Jam ‘Vs.’ |

As part of Amazon’s monthly $5 MP3 album deals for September 2012, Pearl Jam‘s Vs. is on sale for only $5. If you would like a physical copy of Vs. , the CD is available for only $6.99. Vs. was Pearl Jam’s second studio album, recorded in 1993 at the luxurious The Site in Nicasio, California. Pressured to top – or at least parallel – the success of their debut album, Ten, the band at first thought the paradise-like setting of The Site would allow them to relax and let their creative juices flow. However, it had the opposite effect on singer Eddie Vedder, who was unnerved by all that comfort – so much so, that he actually drove to San Francisco and slept in his truck for a week. Hey, whatever makes the music happen, right? The result was this gem of an album, which includes the now-classic radio hits “Daughter,” “Dissident,” and “Elderly Woman Behind The Counter in a Small Town,” as well as the heavier hitting “Animal” and “Blood.” Browse the main sale page to see all 100 albums on sale for only $5 each in MP3 format through the end of September 2012.
