Ya know what? I’m gonna start with the END of Ghostbusters #7 for this review. The reason being is that I keep forgetting to give my second favorite Australian, Tristan Jones (sorry, T. Paul Hogan is THE MAN), his due. Dare I say, this comic would NOT be as awesome as it is without him. Just page through his supplemental PCOC (Paranormal Contracts Oversight Commission) pages and look at the sheer amount of work that goes into them. Not only are they entertaining, but whatever you want to know about the technical aspects of the Ghostbusters, it’s there, thanks to Tristan. Well done, sir.

Simply put, the cure for boring comics is this book. I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t like Ghostbusters. Sure, not everyone LOVES Ghostbusters, but even those who don’t, still LIKE it. What amazes me most is how writer Erik Burnham weaves stories that organically flow from the films into the comic. There’s nothing jarring or outlandish in this book. No “Ghostbusters become the Kings of England” or “Ghostbusters battle Jesus” kind of stuff, just good stories that reflect the humor and tone of the movies that we all enjoyed. And this issue is no exception. I didn’t know I needed a psych eval of Peter Venkman, but it turns out I did, and I really enjoyed it. And, there’s no short supply of action and cool Ghostbusting tech here, either.

Artist Dan Schoening is a MACHINE!!!! You can see just how much love for this property goes into every single panel that he draws. And, this is his seventh issue without a break of fill-in, which I think breaks a record in today’s comic industry. Well done, Dan. Another thing that is great about Schoening’s art is that it’s filled with famous background characters. You really need to LOOK at each panel to get everything you can out of it.

Do I really need to say it? You really need to buy this comic!! It’s a great read, nice to look at, and it’s worth the cover price. Don’t make me get out my Positron Glider.
