Most teaser trailers are forgettable, useless, and fail to deliver an increase in anticipation. Apparently Sony didn’t get that memo, as the first trailer for Sam Mendes‘ Skyfall has arrived. You can watch it here below.
Rather than give too much or too little, the teaser is on point, sending the right kinds of tones. The best part about this trailer is that we don’t even get a look at Javier Bardem, instead we see his shadowy figure engulfed in flames.
So with no clue about the plot, the villain, or what the hell Skyfall is, I’d say that this was a very effective teaser trailer. And for those who haven’t been following the status of the movie, here’s the very vague plot description.
Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
You can check out the video for yourself and see. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Skyfall also stars Bérénice Marlohe, Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCroy, Albert Finney, and Ralph Fiennes. Skyfall hits theaters on November 9th.
