There’s a new book out now titled The Dark Knight Manual: Tools, Weapons, Vehicles and Documents from the Batcave by Brandon T. Snider that provides a detailed technical look at the amazing world Christopher Nolan and his first-rate design team created for Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and now The Dark Knight Rises.
The book also contains removable blueprints, cards, stickers, a bonus disc containing 14 high-resolution images, and something that’s guaranteed to be of great importance to the hardcore Bat-geeks out there: a detailed map of the cinematic Gotham City.
We have provided the map here for your viewing pleasure. You can check it out here below.
Nolan’s vision of Gotham, the dark mirror of the DC Universe’s other iconic city – the more outwardly optimistic Metropolis – is arguable one of the most impressive realizations of a thriving fictional city ever seen on film. Although most of the Gotham exteriors used for the trilogy were shot in Chicago the city was also portrayed in the movies by New York, Pittsburgh, and Los Angeles. Artistic fans of the series have attempted to map out Gotham in the past but this is the most definitive version we’re likely to see.
