After having just been informed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt had been added to the cast of Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller‘s Sin City sequel, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, now comes word of two more actors joining the cast.
According to sources, both Josh Brolin and Christopher Meloni have now joined the cast of the sequel, which is based on Miller’s comic series.
Brolin will play a character familiar to fans of both Miller’s comics and the 2005 movie, a character named Dwight. Clive Owen played the character originally, but the story of Dwight being told in A Dame to Kill For takes place before the events we saw unfold in the first movie. Dwight’s face wasn’t always the same, so we’ll be finding out how his came to change so much. In the Gordon-Levitt casting news linked above it’s mentioned that Clive Owen would also be back, but now it’s not specified if that’s the case anymore. If so, it’s assumed it will be a much smaller appearance.
Meloni, star of Law & Order: SVU, HBO’s Oz, and the upcoming Man of Steel, will play a cop in the movie, with no further details given.
Other cast includes Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Dennis Haysbert, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, and Jamie Chung.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is filming right now for an October 4, 2013 release date.
