What initially started out at a straight-to-DVD spin-off of the Cars franchise has since transformed to a full-length feature film, Planes, which will be released by Disney. Announced back in 2011, Planes was to feature the voice of Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men) as Dusty, a crop duster. Since then the film moved on to become a feature film and somewhere along the way Cryer dropped out and now Walt Disney Studios has announced that Dane Cook will replace him. Cook may have been courted for all sorts of comedic projects a few years back, but his stock has also dropped along the way. His last major starring role was in 2008’s My Best Friend’s Wedding. Attempts at getting a pilot run and a stage show into production did not pan out.

Considering Joss Whedon is the chief creative consultant for all things Marvel at Walt Disney Studios, he would have oversight on the structure of not only The Avengers 2, but any other film that precedes it. One of the biggest stories to hit the web in the past few weeks came from El Mayimbe from Latino Review. According to his inside sources, The Avengers 2 would be a segue for Hulk’s solo film, Planet Hulk, and then use the World War Hulk storyline for The Avengers 3. Previous statements made by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige seemed to support that story. It seems to make sense. Both Planet Hulk and World War Hulk were highly successful story arcs that sold really well on comic book stands, and those two stories would fit perfectly into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Whedon is coming out and saying that not only a Hulk solo movie would be “very, very hard” to do, but a new report seems to squash all the rumors and speculations of the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe being based on the two aforementioned Hulk story arcs.

For Red Nose Day this year, designer Stella McCartney, daughter of Paul McCartney, has created five charity t-shirts, one of which features a photo of The Beatles taken by her late mother, Linda McCartney. The Beatles photo on the shirt is doctored to show the Fab Four with red nose and glasses on, in honor of the March 15th event, which includes a telethon to raise funds that will go to provide fresh water and life-saving vaccines in Africa, as well as help those in the UK who are homeless or living with domestic abuse. Red Nose Day is part of the British charity organization Comic Relief. Along with The Beatles selection, McCartney’s designs, which are featured on Fairtrade, organic cotton t-shirts, also include one each for Marilyn Monroe, Tommy Cooper, and Kate Moss, as well as one for kids with a giraffe on it.
