Lucasfilm Sets The Record Straight On Rumors Of J.J. Abrams Leaving ‘Star Wars Episode 7’

A rumor was circulating recently that director J.J. Abrams might be thinking about stepping away from making Star Wars Episode VII in order to concentrate on Star Trek 3.
The rumor never really sounded legit (which is why we never covered it), but in Hollywood anything can happen and nothing is surprising anymore.
Still Lucasfilm decided to chime in on the Abrams rumor and set the record straight. You can check out what they had to say below.
Here’s what Lucasfilm had to say:
“There is no truth to the rumor. J.J. is having a great time working on the script and is looking forward to going into production next year.”
Again, anything can happen in Hollywood, but if you heard the rumor of J.J. Abrams departing Star Wars and were wondering if it was true, that’s what Lucasfilm has to say about it.
