From Batman and Superman to Wonder Woman and Shazam and even the short-lived Human Target, Aquaman, and Birds of Prey, DC Comics have seen much more success putting their heroes on the small screen than their competitor Marvel Comics – although that might change when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuts this fall. With Arrow making huge waves and getting ready for its second season, new heroes with DC roots were bound to have their own shows as well. It’s being reported that the CW network is fast tracking Flash, a series based on the speedy superhero from Arrow team of co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and director David Nutter.

| Watch Now: First Trailer For Ben Stiller’s ‘The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty’
A first trailer has been released for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, a new adaption of the James Thurber short story that first appeared in The New Yorker in 1939. Thurber’s short story was previously adapted in the 1947 film of the same name, which starred Danny Kaye in the title role. The movie is directed by and stars Ben Stiller as a daydreamer who often escapes to his own fantasy worlds. It also stars Kristen Wiig, Shirley MacLaine, Adam Scott, Kathryn Hahn, and Sean Penn, and will arrive in theaters on Christmas day. Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost made a public appearance at a screening of the entire Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas this past weekend. But they were there for more than just that. In fact, the three debuted a Shaun of the Dead poster done by none other than the talented alternative pop culture artist Tyler Stout, and now this poster will go on sale to the public this week. Of course as with all these Stout posters, you’re gonna see almost every recognizable character from the film inserted into the poster itself. Plus a few more gems, that you should look out for. | New ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Viral Video, Images & Website For Trask Industries
A new viral website has gone live for Trask Industries, the fictional corporation from the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past headed by Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage), whose goal is to protect humans and their freedom from the ever-growing mutant threat with his creations, including the Sentinel program. The program, which was first launched in 1973, sees the mutant threat combated with 18-foot, nearly 5,000-pound artificial intelligence machines called Sentinels designed to destroy mutants. The website gives us our first look at Dinklage as Trask, in all his ’70s glory, as well as loads of information on what the company does, why mutants are dangerous, and why you’re safe with Trask’s defense systems. Also found on the site are a video for the company and some cool images/propaganda posters, which can be seen below.

| Photo: ‘Sherlock’ Stars Martin Freeman & Benedict Cumberbatch Together On The Set Of ‘The Hobbit’ |

Peter Jackson, director of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, has been working hard over in New Zealand over the last few weeks finishing up on the filming of his most recent Tolkien trilogy, The Hobbit. The director has posted photos to his Facebook page of the final days on The Hobbit set, including one of star Martin Freeman‘s last day on July 12 (here below), and then the final shot done on July 26, 2013. One of the last pictures of the filming that Jackson posted on Facebook was taken two weeks ago of Sherlock stars Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch together on set. Freeman has the lead role in the film trilogy as the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, while Cumberbatch is voicing the dragon Smaug, who is the center of attention in the second film, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, due out in theaters on December 13, 2013. In the photo, shown here below, which Jackson titled “Smaug admires Bilbo’s feet,” Cumberbatch is touching Freeman’s prosthetic Hobbit feet. Check out the photo here below.
