Christopher Lee Brings Heavy Metal To Christmas With “Jingle Hell”
space
Ryan Midnight   |

Christopher Lee Heavy Metal Christmas Too

Christopher Lee is back with another Yule tide release, A Heavy Metal Christmas Too, which takes the classic “Jingle Bells” and gives it a heavy metal face lift with some excellent choppy riffs and all new lyrics, giving it the new moniker “Jingle Hell.” It is, as with basically anything that Lee puts effort into, amazing.

The single also includes a heavy metal rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” which is equally brilliant. Lee, at 91, is making a very good case that there is none more metal than him with this second release that hopefully will become a tradition for years to come. You can hear Lee discuss “Jingle Hell” below, as well as some samples from both songs.

Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting

A collection of unexpected announcements for you this Monday afternoon, all coming from the same place.

The Weinstein Company’s Bob Weinstein and Harvey Weinstein have reached a new muti-year deal with Miramax—the company the brothers founded in 1979 but departed in 2005 when they could not reach an agreement with then-owner Disney—Chairman Tom Barrack Jr. with plans to dust off some of the company’s classic titles and develop either sequels or TV series for them.

Right out of the gate, it’s being reported that sequels will now be developed for Best Picture Oscar winner Shakespeare in Love and poker drama Rounders, and that TV series based on Oscar-winning Good Will Hunting and Flirting With Disaster are in the works as well.

Forgotten Realms: The Adversary: The Sundering, Book 3

Wizards of the Coast initiated a reshaping of the Forgotten Realms this past August with a multi-part event they dubbed “The Sundering.” Taking place over the course of six books penned by different scribes, weekly D&D Encounters events, and even mobile gaming for your smartphone or tablet, this storyline will span a full year and cause extensive upheaval in the realms as we know them.

I was fortunate enough to be granted the opportunity to ask a few questions of one of the pivotal authors involved in this undertaking. It pleases me to no end to introduce you to Erin M. Evans, author of many Forgotten Realms books including Book 3 in “The Sundering,” titledThe Adversary.

Without further ado, here we go!

State of Syn Web Series

It’s a Stargate: Atlantis reunion! Jewel Staite (Stargate‘s Jennifer Keller), David Hewlett (Stargate‘s Rodney McKay), and Rainbow Francks (Stargate‘s Aiden Ford) have all assumed major roles on a new 3D web comic series titled State of Syn. Additionally, fans will be happy to hear the voice of Torri Higginson (Stargate‘s Elizabeth Weir) in the opening narration of each webisode.

This science fiction web drama created by Daniel Dales and Jarett Sherman, features a combination of voice-overs, photography, and comic still drawing and animation. Directed by Jed Weintrob, State of Syn plays out like a live comic in approximately five-minute segments; similar in length to a single issue. The images serve as moving panels, transporting the viewer from one scene to the next. Adding to cross-platform element of the show, the fans can also get involved with an “interactive companion game for IOS and Android devices.”

Curious? See the first two episodes for yourself and read a State of Syn‘s teaser description below.
