The Six Million Dollar Man, Season Six #1 comes out thirty six years after the last episode aired. Firefly fans, don’t you EVER complain to me about waiting for a TV show to get picked up for another season. So, was it worth the wait?

Writer Jim Kuhoric manages to pack SO much from the both the television series AND the 1970s, it’s almost unbelievable. For a first issue, he spends VERY little time introducing characters and setting them up. He lets the television intro do that for him, and that gives us everything we need to get going. What he does include, is numerous mentions to the past history of the characters that were depicted in previous episodes, which is fun for those of us who remember and revisit the episodes, but it’s in no way, shape, or form off-putting to readers who are picking this up for the first time.

The story is packed with fantastic stuff. There’s a looming threat introduced, the main villain, and another looming threat that turns into a main villain! This book, honestly, has about three books worth of story in it, had it been written by anyone else. Kuhoric is no stranger when it comes to writing licensed comics, and it’s easy to see here why he’s so good at it.

I am SO glad Juan Antonio Ramirez is back in the “Bionic-verse” after The Bionic Woman comic from Dynamite ended. This art is straight up AMAZING!!! Ramirez must have either been alive in the ’70s or has done a fantastic amount of research of the fashions, hair styles, and attitude of that era. Everyone is wearing bell bottoms!!!! Everything about this book, I can only describe as lush. The backgrounds, the action, the talking head panels, there is nothing that Ramirez doesn’t put 110% of his talent into. And that’s not even mentioning the original designs that he comes up with. I’m going to go ahead and declare the art…PERFECT!!

At this point, do I even need to tell you that you should buy this book? I don’t care if you’re not into licensed books, don’t care about the property, or come up with any other excuse that you could throw at me. There is NO reason on Earth that you shouldn’t pick this up, enjoy it, and read it multiple times before the next issue comes out. Yeah, it’s that good.
