Spoiler Alert! Here is a brief recap of Gotham 1.9 “Harvey Dent“!

We are introduced to Harvey Dent (Nicholas D’Agosto), and the foreshadowing of Two-Face is apparently apparent. Selina (Camren Bicondova) gives a description of the Wayne’s killer and is squirreled away at Wayne manor, much to Alfred’s (Sean Pertwee) chagrin. The case of the day is a reluctant bomber, broken out of prison to fulfill an agenda. Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) finds out Fish’s (Jada Pinkett-Smith) pretty secret.

Gotham 1.10 “LoveCraft“review: It’s the fall finale of Gotham and everything that has come before is hurtling towards what promises to be an explosive end of the season. But we are not quite there yet.

Fox’s official synopsis is:

Selina leads a new friend on a perilous journey through Gotham to evade the assassins who are on her trail. Following a misstep, Gordon is reassigned to duty at Arkham Asylum in the all-new “Lovecraft” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Nov. 24 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

And while this is true, you’ll have to watch the entire episode to understand why some of that as a synopsis choice is a little strange. As you will see in the teasers (seen below), her friend is Bruce (David Mazouz) and he is pulled through her world. They have a strange run-in with the already unhinged (Poison) Ivy. Bullock (Donal Logue) has almost turned into the moral compass, which is ironically delicious. Alfred is a badass. I mean, we always knew it, but it’s awesome to see.

This episode, without a case of the day, makes huge strides in character development. I enjoy these more than the “du jours,” but perhaps these are needed for the Easter Eggs and the pacing. The Arkham Asylum assignment sets up a myriad of interesting possibilities for the rest of season one.

Fox released a ton of teaser footage to whet the appetite. I especially love Jim getting called a “plank” (by Alfred) and a “putz” (by Bullock) in a span of 30 seconds, in the “You Were Wrong” teaser below. While teasers usually show the best parts, the rest of the episode holds its own just as well.

Enjoy these teasers and the episode tonight, and I’ll see you all back in Gotham in 2015!
