Today, Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for next summer’s highly-anticipated Mad Max: Fury Road, and just in time for Christmas too. Ah Warners, but I didn’t get you anything.
Watch the new trailer here below.
Over the Summer, the George Miller-directed sequel stormed San Diego Comic-Con and unleashed the first footage and posters. The results nearly shattered the Internet that wonderful July day. The studio later released an edited version of the Comic-Con sizzle reel that has been viewed over twelve million times on YouTube. I was responsible for perhaps a quarter of that amount.
This trailer doesn’t reveal too many plot details, but it tells us all what we need to know for now. Tom Hardy assumes the role of lone wasteland warrior Max Rockatansky in Miller’s first automotive apocalyptic adventure since 1985’s Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. During the course of the story he becomes allies with Charlize Theron‘s Furiosa and must help her and others avoid becoming the victims of a growing band of vicious marauders. There may be more to the plot and if there is I’m sure it will be carefully revealed as the release date approaches.
Mad Max: Fury Road co-stars Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, and Hugh Keays-Byrne. The film will be released in 2D and 3D on May 15, 2015. Something tells me I’m going 3D on this sucker.
