Suicide Squad

A quick update for those of you who were excited about the great cast announced for the DC Comics movie Suicide Squad.

As it turns out, The Dark Knight Rises and Mad Max: Fury Road star Tom Hardy has had to drop out of the project. The reason for Hardy’s departure is what it usually is: a scheduling conflict. Hardy is currently filming a frontier drama titled The Revenant from Oscar nominated Birdman director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu that also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, which is going to take longer to finish than previously anticipated.

As soon as The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision broke the news of the Hardy’s departure, word of the actor being looked at to replace Hardy came screaming in.

According to The Wrap, director David Ayer is trying to bring in his End of Watch star Jake Gyllenhaal for the role of Rick Flag in Suicide Squad.

Stay tuned.
