Last night on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, guest Will Smith and host Jimmy Fallon delighted viewers with their beatboxing/technology mashup skills by performing “It Takes Two” with just their voices and an iPad.
Fallon, self-dubbing himself a “classically trained beatboxer,” brought out his iPad to demonstrate a looper app which allows you to put down a few tracks on top of each other, known as recorded layering. Will Smith and “J-Fal” laid down the parts to rap “It Takes Two” by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock. Tonight Show house band The Roots joined in after a few measures.
Check out the video of this here below.
Smith was on the show last night promoting his new movie Focus, where he plays a conman who’s thrown off his game when ex-love who’s also a con artist, comes back to town. Check out the trailer for the movie here below.
Fallon’s man crush on Will Smith (who can blame him?) continues with this fun bit, as he made a parody of the Fresh Prince TV theme song opening sequence on Monday to kick off his week in LA (click here to watch that), and their “Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing” video (see below) is already a classic. After a full week at Universal Studios Hollwood after their Super Bowl Sunday night special in Arizona, Fallon and the gang are heading back home to Studio 1B at New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza.
The Looper app called “Loopy” is available in the App store for $3.99. Check out a doo-wop “Loopy” creation below when Fallon and Billy Joel got together.
You know what I want?
I wanna rock right now……Thank you, thank you. I’ll be here all week.
Check out the awesomeness:
