Episode 3 of the debut season of the new CW series iZombie, titled “The Exterminator,” has now aired, and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the latest episode below.

Spoilers from the show will be mentioned as well, so proceed with caution.

We are up to episode 3 of the breakout hit iZombie and I looked forward to it all week! Is it a breakout hit because I said so? Maybe. All I know is that Rose McIver as Liv Moore is perfection. She’s a fun, bubbly girl zombie with quick quips all of the time, and then when she takes on the personalities and talents of the brains she eats, she transforms. It is eerie how good she is. So far, she was scratched at a crazy drug party by a zombie, then later met said maker. She agreed to help maker Blaine (David Anders), but she really doesn’t trust him. With good reason. Last week’s case was a murdered artist who was very sexually active, and Liv was all over that.

iZombie 1.3 “The Exterminator” review: Liv eats the brains of a hitman, loses her emotions, and gains lots of fun facts. At least it helps her not freak out and cry when she sees what her ex is up to. She just doesn’t care. That the dead hitman killed someone else, makes for a nice complicated mixed bag of brains and intrigue.

Line of the day — Liv to Dr. Ravi: “Your skull just turned into a giant animated ham.”

They also run into an extra from The Walking Dead and attempt to reverse the zombie-ness. Watch to see if that worked. Dr. Ravi (Rahul Kohli) really wants to cure zombie-ism.

Liv and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) are getting to be good crimefighting partners. Liv’s lessons learned narration at the end of the episodes are really enjoyable as well.

Another excellent episode.
