“Coming to you from San Diego, it’s Conan at Comic-Con!”
Conan is at SDCC 2015 all week and true to Conan O’Brien‘s style, he and Andy Richter (and the band) arrive via spoofy tribute to Mad Max: Fury Road.
Check out the parody video here below.
In it, Andy is driving the rig dressed as Immortan Joe (played by Hugh Keays-Byrne in the real thing), while Conan is up top channeling The Doof Warrior (played by Australian artist Iota), complete with flaming guitar! Jimmy Vivino and The Basic Cable Band pound on steel drums in the back of the war machine. After getting a little lost, Conan/Doof sprays a certain little silvery drug onto Andy/Immortan’s mouth.
The guitar flames set fire to the “Welcome To San Diego” sign, and then the credits splash in comic book style.
– The show’s title looks right at home inside a comic book.
– The guests names, Elijah Wood and Chris Hardwick, are Superman: The Movie themed.
– Jimmy Vivino and The Basic Cable Band name hovered in as if it came from Hogwarts.
– The A in Andy Richter is The Avengers A.
Conan O’Brien is so great. He is the coolest nerd ever – dedicated to San Diego Comic-Con 2015, and sharing his excitement with us.
Be sure to keep it here at Geeks Of Doom all week for our on-site coverage of SDCC 2015.
