Yesterday, we got our first official look at the Christmas Special for Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role of super sleuth Sherlock Holmes with Martin Freeman as his crime-solving partner Dr. John Watson.

And today brings the very first footage from the Special, which will take place in Victorian-era London.

BBC previously released a different teaser image for the special back in November.

When the news about the Special broke this time last year (along with the news of the show’s renewal for a fourth season), it was touted as a “Christmas Special,” yet the network seems to be shying away from that classification now – perhaps because they still don’t know exactly when they’ll be releasing it. At the Sherlock panel today at San Diego Comic-Con, showrunner Steven Moffat said the Special will be out in “the next year, we hope,” according to Deadline.

This first clip, which premiered at SDCC today, was posted to social media by BBC and PBS, who are co-producing the project, with the captions “The boys will be back soon…ish!” and “#Sherlock Special. Coming soon… ish”

Also at the SDCC panel today it was revealed that the Special will make its way to the big screen in select theaters around the world.
