The Warner Bros. Pictures panel this morning at San Diego Comic-Con brought about a new trailer for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, but it also had another surprise for DC fans.
The cast of DC’s Suicide Squad made a surprise appearance today in Hall H the panel. Joining director David Ayer were stars Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, and more!
The studio also debuted a sizzle reel for the movie (which is currently filming) and some concept art – check out the details here below.
The Concept Art showed:
– Harley strapped to a gurney, about to be injected with a serum by guards.
– Deadshot rappelling himself off a building.
– Diablo summoning fire.
– The team assembled at a bar.
Here’s a description of the footage:
Amanda Waller talking to high-ranking military officers about assembling a squad of villains to help take out people like Superman should he go rogue. The reason, so that the villains would immiedately take the blame if they get caught during these black ops missions. We then see a montage of clips. For most of us, this is the first time we have ever seen these DC characters come to life. However, all eyes were on the Jared Leto, and his performance of the Joker. Let’s just say he exceeded all expectations, as the crowd erupted in cheers when they saw a tattooed Joker holding a drill, saying, “I am just going to hurt you really really bad,” to his victim.
Director Ayer said of the film that the good vs. evil stories are played out: “It’s time for bad versus evil,” he said.
“We are banging something that is absolutely fantastic,” said Smith.
Here’s a list of the stars who appeared at today’s panel, with their character names:
Katana (Karen Fukahara), Slipknot (Adam Beach), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Col. Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), and Deadshot (Will Smith)
A secret government agency recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency.
Suicide Squad opens on August 5, 2016.
