Again… spoilers and NSFW. I love it.

Last week on Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, the episode lived up to its “pimp” name, as Johnny (Denis Leary) started talking to a young (and douch-y) guy to get him to date Gigi (Liz Gillies). He’d do anything to get her away from Flash (John Corbett). It almost worked too, and led to the best songwriting session of the season. Click here to see the list of some of the very creative song titles. Rehab and Bam Bam (John Ales and Robert Kelly) are sick of being 2nd (rather 4th and 5th) string in the band, and decide to create their own genre, Beastcore (animal sounds included). They are surprisingly kind of successful at a show, but the end brings about a never-mention-this-ever moment.

SDRR 1.9 “Take My Picture By The Pool” review: Ira (Josh Pais) gets an offer a record deal for just Gigi, but Johnny and Flash can be her songwriters. That means kicking Rehab and Bam Bam to the curb (No!!!!!), after they were deemed too fat and old. They decide to become EDM (extremely douche-y music?) DJs with helmets a la Daft Punk, and end up pleased with the gig.

The perks please the rest of the gang immensely, and we are treated to an in-depth Johnny Rock makeover. He does end up looking quite dapper. The limo and the other expensive trappings are really seductive, but the warning bells are ringing. The song does not sound as good as it did originally, and Gigi is literally dressed like a whore.

Also, it may be okay for Jimmy Fallon to lip sync, but no daughter of Johnny Rock will.

We were treated to sexy, almost naked Liz Gillies provocative dancing, but she wasn’t happy, therefore we weren’t happy. The music is more important, man!

Another little jewel of an SDRR episode that made me shout, “Yeah!” at the end, for Johnny’s defense of his daughter, and not selling out.

Flash was a little too much on the asshole side of things, and I think Gigi will end that relationship on her own. But that’s just speculation.

I think I learned what the BJ in Bon Jovi really stands for. And according to Johnny, they are better than the regular ones.

The season finale of Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll airs next week Thursday, September 17th at 10pm ET on FX.

SDRR – Next On: Take My Picture by the Pool

Gigi gets a huge record deal. Bam and Rehab quit the band to become uber-hip EDM DJs.
