Last week on Dominion, Michael, Noma, and Alex (Tom Wisdom, Kim Engelbrecht, and Christopher Egan) make their way into Vega with Claire’s (Roxanne McKee) help, and then everybody’s feelings get confused. Dominion showed us the softer side of Arika (Shivani Ghai -in the way way past), and it makes her ruthlessness a bit more understandable now. Julian (Simon Merrells) amphora-sizes Gabriel (Carl Beukes) in an effort to take over his body, but we knew that couldn’t happen, right? Now Gabriel is pure evil, and Julian barely escapes with his life. Michael passes out and meets The Prophet in his mind (which also happens to be in Mallory, Alabama).
Dominion 2.10 “House Of Sacrifice” review: Tonight’s episode certainly lived up to its name. Jesus! This was another exciting and crazy episode. Quite bloody as well.
Michael is still hanging out with The Prophet inside his head, and challenges him to a poker game, to get out of the whole Michael-has-to-really-die-or-Mallory-will-burn thing. Now the stakes are higher – it’s not an either.or thing anymore. Lose – and not only does Michael die, but Mallory burns as well. If he wins – the opposite. I’m a little confused at The Prophet’s motives. Doesn’t he care about Mallory, Alabama? Why would he save them in the 1st place if he didn’t care? Or is all this just a game? Who is he working for?
Poor General Riesen (Alan Dale) is now a Dyad, and Gabriel kicks him and Clementine out. You should just listen to your 8-Ball wife and go! he wants to take the Amphora with him. And it costs him everything. But Gabriel gained a soldier. Clementine was keeping him human, and now she’s gone.
Is Alex still in love with Claire? I suppose so but I’m #TeamNoma all the way.
William Whele (Luke Allen-Gale) gave up daddy (Anthony Head) to Claire. Karma.
The competitive banter between Alex and Gates (Nic Bishop) was really fun. They were like a buddy cop movie. I adore when dramas are funny. It made Gates sacrifice all the more sad. For Claire, especially. And surprise! She abolished the V system via inspirational speech.
I very upset (again) about Gabriel’s descent into the complete dark side. I really hope Michael can save him. Especially now that Michael realizes his other (and apparently worse) brother, Lucifer is still around. Michael is going to need Gabriel. The episode had me yelling at my TV again.
The Amphora is here! And the promo for next week looks dire.
Dominion airs Thursday nights at 10pm ET on Syfy.
