When last we saw Phil Miller and Carol Pilbasian (Will Forte and Kristen Schaal), she had come to the desert to run away with him, after he got banished from Tucson by the other Phil Miller (Boris Kodjoe) and the gang. She realized that despite his lying, cheating (or attempts thereof), narcissism, and basically morally inept character, they belonged to each other. He had realized this way before, when hot Phil Miller and she got it on.

Now it seems, they are RV’ing around, and their relationship is as fun as ever. We already know we have Jason Sudeikis to look forward to next season as Phil’s astronaut brother. But just how will the rest of Tucson residents Melissa, Todd, Gail, Erica, and Phil Miller #2 (January Jones, Mel Rodriguez, Mary Steenburgen, Cleopatra Coleman, and Boris Kodjoe) fit into the landscape? And who will they run into on the road?
I’ll tell you. I wasn’t too keen on the first two episodes of The Last Man On Earth when Phil was pretty much alone, but as they added more characters, it just got better and better. I’m glad I took a chance.
The Last Man On Earth returns Sunday, September 27th, on FOX.

Will Forte and Kristen Schaal return in THE LAST MAN ON EARTH. Season Premiere SUN SEPT 27 on FOX!
The year is 2020, and after a deadly virus has swept the planet, only one man is left on earth: PHIL MILLER (Forte). He used to be just an average guy who loved his family and hated his job. Now, in his RV, Phil searches the country for other survivors. He has traveled to every city, every town and every outpost in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and has found no one. As he returns to his hometown of Tucson, Phil comes to the painful realization that he is almost certainly the last living being on the face of the earth. All he wants is for someone – anyone – to find him in Tucson – preferably a woman.
