Last week was one of my favorite The Last Man On Earth episodes ever. Phil (Will Forte) had accidentally left Carol (Kristen Schaal) at a gas station, and couldn’t find her. Carol waited, mirroring Phil’s apocalyptic beginning. He was so desperate to find her, he went to Tucson even though it would mean his death (they burned down his house). He came up with a genius idea to spray paint a train with a message to her. And it worked! Phil had a Tandi moment when he found a note from the gang that they went to Malibu. Since they didnt want Phil, he hid it… for a little while. But his love for Carol overcame that, and soon they headed out. Carol went to feel out the gang, jumped out and screamed, “Boo!” And killed Will Ferrell.

Spoilers below.

The gang is back together! But there is a lot of death involved, a strong statement considering almost everyone on Earth died from a virus.

We now know that Carol killed Gordon who was guest star Will Ferrell!!! Sucks that we only got 5 minutes of him ever this season.

How did the friends receive Carol? Melissa (January Jones) missed her. Phil #2 (Boris Kodjoe) REALLY missed her (hubba hubba). Because of that Erica (Cleopatra Coleman), his new girlfriend dislikes her, Todd (Mel Rodriguez) is just nice, and Gail (Mary Steenburgen) hates her because Gordon was her lover. I told you Carol was getting more and more like Phil.

Gail: “Did you scare him to death too?”
Carol: “I had nothing to do with Tandi’s death.”

Carol takes a page out of Phil Miller’s book and says he’s dead, in an effort to get the group to think of him fondly. Since that does NOT work, Carol decides to leave. That makes them reconsider, but…

He totally messes it up of course. How? Watch. Trust that it’s in the worst way possible.

He ends up in a stockade, because even a society of 7 needs rules and consequences.

What a dark and fun show.

This show is the Threes Company of the apocalypse.

The Last Man On Earth airs Sundays at 9:30pm ET on FOX.
