Last week on The Flash, Harrison Wells from Earth-2 saved The Flash!!! From a Sharkman! Woohoo! What is this, the Syfy channel? So happy that Tom Cavanagh is back. Now I don’t know if this is the real Harrison Wells, or if on Earth-2, Eobard Thawne also killed the real one. My guess is that this is the real one, because Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) never became The Flash. Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) did. Plus the S.T.A.R. Labs of Earth-2 was bustling and sunny. Earth-1’s lab gang during this entire episode is trying to find another other half to Dr. Stein (Victor Garber), because he is becoming instable. They find one in the form of Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh). Barry’s new love interest, Patty Spigot (Shantel VanSanten) is adorable.
Spoilers below.
The Flash 2.5 “The Darkness And The Light” review: Everyone is trying not to be crazy shocked over “Harry” (as Cisco calls him).
“You know, our Dr. Wells may have been evil, but you’re just a dick.” Haha!
I’m just giddy that he’s back. I don’t care if he’s evil, good, boring, stupid – just happy he’s back.
Zoom sends yet another meta after Barry, Dr. Light, the doppelganger of Barry’s ex, Linda Park (Malese Jow). Jay assures them that she’s a thief not a murderer, and he and Wells bicker throughout the episode. Garrick is coming off as a coward. Desperate times turns ordinary thieves into more. Light wants to kill Linda so she can take over her life. She thinks it’s the only way to evade Zoom.
We have Vibe! So Dr. Wells outed Cisco (Carlos Valdes) with his fancy watch that has an meta human detector app. I wonder how much that would cost in the app store? We find his true motivation – his daughter.
Hawkgirl alert! Ciara Renee is the barista that rejects then accepts Cisco’s offer of a date. Well that’s not going to last. One, she’s leaving to be on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and two, Hawkman is her soulmate through lifetimes.
Speaking of date, Barry and Patty go on a “blind” date, where Barry is actually blind, thanks to Dr. Light. She’s a smart cookie and figures out his lack of sight, and dumb sunglasses at night.
Great, great, great episode! I swear, it could just be Cisco and Dr. Wells only and they would be a show. The rest are good icing on the awesome cake. I’m also quite pleased at how strong Iris (Candice Patton) was this episode – a useful, helpful part of the team, saving the day.
Btw, I can’t wait to see Barry, Joe (Jesse L. Martin), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), and Cisco’s Earth-2 doppelgangers. Oh, and Eddie (Rick Cosnett) too!
The Flash airs Tuesday nights at 8pm ET on The CW.
