Guardians of the Galaxy villain Thanos

The identity of Star-Lord’s (Chris Pratt) father will reportedly be revealed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. We have gotten a few hints as to who his father may be throughout the years, but director James Gunn has played coy as to who Star-Lord’s father may be. There are some who think they know who it is, and that only a few people know the answer. Although, Gunn did reveal a shortlist of possible people, let’s not take that to heart.

So while the film prepares to start shooting, Bradley Cooper, who voices Rocket Raccoon, seems to have “accidentally” revealed the answer. While on a press tour for Burnt, the actor said that Thanos was Star-Lord’s father. Of course the internet was up in arms about this, and Gunn was rather quick to respond to Cooper’s revelation. More on the story below.

Here is Cooper’s response to the question of who will be the main villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

I’m not sure that we should even take his answer seriously even if James Gunn had not responded to this. Cooper doesn’t seem to know the answer himself, and rather than just say a simple no, he plays around with the interviewer. At times he seems confused, and has to ask the interviewer who the character he’s describing is.

Of course since this is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, changes from the comics to the film are necessary to fit the narrative. But for the most part, Cooper is wrong, as Gunn would have to explain on Facebook and Twitter.

So I woke up this morning to a thousand posts about Bradley Cooper having revealed that the primary villain in GotG Vol….

Some have said that it would be way too easy if Thanos was Star-Lord’s father, but then again, when you look at Thanos, he doesn’t exactly look like an Angel of Light.

Anyways, I’m sure Cooper knows the repercussions of revealing huge spoilers right before a film heads into production. Marvel has this rep of putting muzzles on their stars to prevent things like this from happening. So considering that Cooper didn’t even get a script, yet, I think we can qualify this as a joke.
