It makes sense that in the week that Screen Junkies debuts its first original show, Interns of F.I.E.L.D. (review available here), that their Honest Trailer would be for the series that inspired the spoof, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. So suit up… in real suits, not superhero outfits, for the Marvel series that isn’t as good as the movies or as critically acclaimed as the Netflix series… and really Daredevil and Jessica Jones were hella-cool.

Narrator Jon Bailey admits he didn’t even finish the first season, which I laughed out loud to because I didn’t either. My entire problem with the MCU is that once you establish that all the characters are on a super-team called the Avengers, every time they have an individual problem I sit there screaming “CALL THE OTHER AVENGERS!!!” That’s why I loved Ant-Man, at least Paul Rudd asked. And Bailey even mocks how the show’s entire concept was basically screwed up by Captain America 2’s reveal that SHIELD (stupid periods) was HYDRA all along. So tune in to watch your favorite superheroes… get their names dropped occasionally.

We get Phil Coulson… because Sam Jackson was too expensive… and other characters that are sort of cool, like Ming Na’s Asian Black Widow, and a revolving door of black characters (cue The Walking Dead kill the black guy joke). But don’t worry, there’s also some awesome-ish B-level Marvel characters like Peggy Carter (in a flashback), Thor’s female friend, Maria Hill, and Captain America’s drinking buddies. Bailey again echoes my sentiment by questioning why they can’t get an occasional Avenger on the damn show. Seriously!

S.T.A.R.R.I.N.G. Dead Man Walking, Not-Tasha Romanov, Tahiti, it’s a magical place, ridiculous holograms and S.T.A.R.E.S. (Slowly Turning Acting Reacting and Emoting Silently)… new title: Law & Order – Super Victims Unit.
