Ahead of the panel scheduled to be held on Saturday at 12:30 pm in the San Diego Comic-Con’s fabled Hall H, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have unveiled the first poster for their upcoming giant monster movie spectacle Kong: Skull Island.
You can check out the poster here below.
Last week, the first image from Kong was revealed. Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts and stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and John Goodman are expected to be in attendance for the Saturday panel.
Since the film has been in production for some time and is set to be released theatrically next March, there’s a very good chance attendees of the panel will get their first look at a trailer or at the very least a sizzle reel to help build anticipation for the $190 million event feature. Skull Island screenwriter Max Borenstein also scripted 2014’s well-received Godzilla directed by Gareth Edwards and is said to be working on the planned Godzilla sequel as well as 2020’s Godzilla vs. Kong, which will bring the rebooted titans of giant monster cinema together in big screen combat.
The poster is a striking image, giving us a good look at the mighty King himself in the furry flesh, even though he is heavily shrouded in fog. Facing the token human cannon fodder standing unwisely on a massive skull, Kong is looking pretty mean and itching for a fight here.
Also starring Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly, and Toby Kebbell, Kong: Skull Island will be released in theaters on March 10, 2017.
