Marvel Studios has been describing Doctor Strange as one of their most psychedelic films, and based on the trailers and footage we have seen, that is no understatement.
But as much as we have seen from all those promotional materials and the world, or should I say worlds, there are those who may not be as familiar with the characters involved. So the studio has released a brand new featurette that will help you get acquainted with the title character. Check out the video below.
Of course, with a very limited run time, the featurette only offers minor character details. But it should be enough to get you familiar with who is who before the film is released in November.
While the visuals look massively appealing all of it will have to tie into Doctor Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) character development, so hopefully this isn’t a film of style over substance. Not that it looks that way, but director Scott Derrickson is making it pretty clear that the psychedelic parts of the film will help engage the audience not only visually but also on a narrative level.
Written by Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill from a story by the two and Jon Spaihts, the film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton.
Here’s the official synopsis:
