This summer, we got a sneak peek and then the first full-length image of Pennywise the Clown from the upcoming movie adaptation of Stephen King’s horror tome It.
Now, a new image of the terrifying clown has been released, which shows him in the sewer system beneath the town of Derry, Maine. Check out the image here below.
Bill Skarsgard (Allegiant) stars in the upcoming film as Pennywise The Dancing Clown, which is just one physical representation of the evil shape-shifting title entity that feeds on fear… and children. Tim Curry memorably portrayed the character in the 1990 television miniseries adaptation of King’s 1986 best-seller.
Here’s what director Andrés Muschietti (Mama) told EW, who debuted the new image, about the iconic monster:
Director Andrés Muschietti (Mama) says this monster unsettles precisely because he doesn’t lurk in the shadows. “Pennywise shows up, he’s front and center, and he does his show. He has an act,” Muschietti says. “So it’s weird all the time, and every little thing implies a further threat.”
Starring Bill Skarsgård, Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, and Jack Grazer, It opens in theaters on September 8, 2017.
