It’s almost impossible to top The LEGO Movie‘s great song “Everything Is Awesome.” While it may have lost the chance to win an Academy Award, it definitely left behind a legacy for being a very upbeat, cheery, and unforgettable tune. It wouldn’t be much of a LEGO Movie without that signature song. So they will try to up things in the sequel The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part with a song titled “Catchy Song,” which includes lyrics like “This song’s gonna get stuck inside your head.â€
The full song from the cast and Dillon Francis featuring T-Pain and That Girl Lay Lay has now been shared online along with a brief featurette about the song. Check them out below.
Let’s face it, “Everything Is Awesome” is pretty hard to top. While I don’t think “Catchy Song” does that, it is still as upbeat, cheery, and fun. And just like its lyric promises, “This song’s gonna get stuck inside your head.”
In the featurette, we can see the like of original stars Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, and Alison Brie with Jimmy O. Yang contributing to the song. With each of them expressing how exciting it is that “This song’s gonna get stuck inside your head.”
The sequel also features the voice talents of Will Arnett, Charlie Day, and Nick Offerman, along with new additions to the cast including Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, and Maya Rudolph. Margot Robbie and Jason Momoa also join the cast to reprise their DC roles as Harley Quinn and Aquaman, respectively.
