| SDCC 2019 Has A ‘Star Trek’ Jean-Luc Picard Museum!
Ok, I am officially jealous that I am not on-site at San Diego Comic-Con right now. You guys, they have a pop-up Picard Museum there!!! In conjunction with the upcoming CBS All Access series, Star Trek: Picard, the studio has set up a temporary Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty museum experience outside the convention center at the Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts in San Diego. There, visitors can get an exclusive replica pin of the Picard family crest, which will be seen in Star Trek: Picard.

| TCM To Air Classic Sci-Fi Movies Every Tuesday In July
The Turner Classic Movies (TCM) network will be launching their “Out of This World: A Celebration of Sci-Fi Movies” programming this July with a series of 34 classic science fiction movies, including the original Star Wars, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Close Encounter of the Third Kind, and more. Airing every Tuesday this month starting at 8pm EST, TCM will air scifi favorites such as 1951’s The Day the Earth Stood Still, 1958’s The Fly, 1968’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, along with several moon-related features to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin’s historic Moon landing.

| ‘Bill & Ted 3’ Starts Filming Today!
We know that Bill & Ted 3 is coming to theaters Summer 2020, and now we know that filming on the long-awaited sequel begins today! The official Bill & Ted movie Twitter page posted last night that “We begin filming tomorrow, dude!”, while franchise co-screenwriter Ed Solomon posted to his account, “Monday. Crew call: 7:30. First shot: 9:00.” This morning, Solomon posted the words “Party On” with a photo of a sign showing the way to the set.

| BookCon 2019 Spotlight: Quirk Books
The Jacob Javits Convention Center in NYC hosted this year’s BookExpo on Thursday and Friday and BookCon Saturday and Sunday, where publishers featured their books for media, educators, librarians, writers, and fans. While these two annual book events don’t bring in the massive crowds that NYCC does, they are being increasing more popular, with attendees swarming to pick up freebies, included the coveted ARCs (advance reading copy/advance review copy), as well as waiting in long lines to meet their favorite authors. Quirk Books, one of our favorite publishers, had a presence at the event, with author signings, tote bag giveaways, and free books. Below is a spotlight on some of their 2019 releases that we’re excited about.
