| ‘The Sabretooth Vampire’ Comes To Dark Horse Presents
Dark Horse Comics announced on Wednesday that Mike Russell‘s hilarious web comics The Sabretooth Vampire lurks its way into the pages of Dark Horse Presents in the next few months with issues #12 and #14. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of The Sabretooth Vampire, it’s pretty simple, actually. The Sabretooth Vampire is about a vampire who has the teeth of a sabertooth tiger. The vampire is a little on the short side, so these massive teeth tend to get in the way of his nefarious deeds that usually involved using the teeth to suck blood from innocent (or guilty, for that matter) victims. So, it’s a bit of a recurring gag, but people watched Looney Toons for years, so deal with it. Anyway, it’s cute, fun and gives you a nice chuckle when you read the strips, so I’m really excited about this.

| Dark Horse Comics Expands Digital Marketplace
Dark Horse Comics continues to grow their digital market when they announced on Monday that they would be bringing digital editions of their comics line to both Barnes and Noble‘s Nook and the Kobo Vox eReaders. eReaders are one of the top consumer gadgets from the iPad to the Kindle, so it’s no surprise that a comic book publisher would be attempting to gather more ground in that format. Recently, we’ve seen plenty of publishers announce that their comics would be available throughout a variety of eReaders and Dark Horse continues to add to their availability. With this announcement, Dark Horse made titles like Mass Effect, Sin City, Star Wars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Hellboy, and many others available to an even wider audience.

| ‘Locke and Key: The Game’ Looks Completely Amazing
Cryptozoic Entertainment announced the release of Locke and Key: The Game, a brand new game based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez‘s Locke and Key. The card game, based on the critically acclaimed IDW Publishing comic book series about a New England family, their home, and a set of mystical keys, is perfect for a night in with geeky friends who, like myself, will get excited about the massive amount of detail applied. It features loads of cards to give the place the players in specific situations, give the players strength, and even 15 specialized key cards based on the keys of the comic’s Keyhouse.

| Hey Everybody, Here’s The First Look At DC’s Shazam! |

DC Comics released some new art on Monday showing off the brand new look and concept for the classic character Captain Marvel, er, um… I mean Shazam! DC announced back in January that Captain Marvel’s name would officially be changed to Shazam, the word used to transform the young Billy Batson into the powerful superhero. And, now, the first image of the newly named Shazam has been released. Check it out in full here below. So, this is the new Billy Batson that we’ll see written by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank? Huh… Well, I don’t want to seem too critical because I think it’s a decent design. Although, one of the things I actually liked about the magical hero formerly known as Captain Marvel was when he was written with youthful enthusiasm as being a hero considering he’s actually a little kid that can be a superhero with one magical word. Based on the artwork, which honestly is not a lot to go on, it appears that the joy is gone. The art’s pretty dark, no?
