The previous issue of IDW’s Star Trek comic book series began the Parallel Lives storyline by introducing us to Jane Kirk, Captain of the USS Enterprise, and her crew. This issue, Star Trek, written by Mike Johnson, brings to a close one of the finest ‘episodes’ to come out of the divergent J.J. Abrams timeline.

When confronted with Jane Kirk and her predominately female crew, the first thing I noticed was the realization that I am a total misogynist. I didn’t realize it (my wife knew), but I suppose I was living denial. Having all the genders reversed showed how male-dominated crew positions on the Enterprise tend to be. Something I would not have noticed before.

Who’s my hero? Is is Chris? Is it Superman? Is it Batman? Is it Kassius? Oh no, it’s none of these. My hero is each and every creator that puts their lives on the line each month to provide each and every one of us with an awesome story so that we can escape from our mundane/great/terrible lives to visit a world that has been created by a writer and artist with a vision and desire to tell stories. I will be eternally thankful to each and every creator whether or not I’m their biggest fan. They have my undying respect. These creators are my heroes. Well, them and people that do really important things like protect freedom and save peoples’ lives and stuff. And Chris Hero. Anyway… The GoD List!

Smallville Season 11 by Cat Staggs

DC Comics announced today that they will be going back to Smallville to bring fans of the show an eleventh season in digital comic book form this April.

Smallville: Season 11 will be a weekly digital comic penned by show writer, comic scribe, and personal favorite Bryan Q. Miller that goes deeper into Clark Kent’s first year as Superman while still using the mythos set up in the televised series. All of the characters that fans of the show know and love will still be major players in the series including Lois Lane, Oliver Queen (Green Arrow), Chloe Sullivan-Queen, General Lane, and many more.
