Midnight tonight, Friday, September 4, 2015, begins Force Friday, the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys, collectibles, and more. Ahead of this major sales event, an unboxing of the items was streamed live online today.

One of the items revealed today BB-8 by Sphero, a baseball-sized remote-control version of the rolling ball droid from the upcoming sequel. This “app-enabled Droid” is controlled by the user via an app for iOS or Android devices and has three modes: Driving, Holographic Messaging, and Patrol.

Toy conventions and Comic-Cons are the places to be at for the exclusive limited-edition high-end toys that every collector wants to have. Some people even camp out to see a live unboxing of these highly-detailed toys. Some don’t get the chance to see the event for themselves, and instead rely on videos posting of these unveilings hours after they occur. But in the age of Periscope, and more live-streaming content, fans around the world are given the opportunity to be right there to see it for themselves.

And now Disney Consumer Products has announced that ahead of Force Friday, they will be holding a Star Wars: The Force Awakens toy unboxing phenomenon event this September that will go live globally. More on this here below.

DC Collectibles just created my Christmas list as they unveiled the new line of collectibles at San Diego Comic-Con! In addition to the meticulously crafted DC Comics Icons and Designer Series figures, they have ones from The New Batman Adventures and Batman: The Animated Series (including Ra’s al Ghul). But wait! Hasbro, in collaboration with HBO and USAopoly, announced today a new variant of the board game Risk set in the fantasy world of Game of Thrones. The game will feature two maps — one of Westeros and one of Essos — and allow players to take control of the powerful noble houses, such as the Baratheon and Lannister. Finally, fans of the series from author George R.R. Martin can indeed take Daenarys Targaryen out of Essos and have her conquer everyone and claim the Iron Throne.

This past weekend was the 2015 New York International Toy Fair and the new Marvel toy lines from Hasbro were amongst the sights to be seen.
