Last year, I reviewed a new comic that was the beginning of a prequel story to the Penny Dreadful Showtime series. I also mentioned that I had yet to see any of the series, but that initial issue piqued my interest. Well, here we are several months later and I have binge-watched the entire TV series. Suffice to say, I loved it and was extremely happy to see Penny Dreadful Volume 1 TPB in my inbox last week.

Elektra #1, part of Marvel’s new Running With the Devil series, came out last week, and our girl had an adventure! Elektra Natchios left New York and Matt Murdock to “hide in plain sight” in Las Vegas. Of course she finds trouble in the form of Arcade, a deadly trickster.

Geeks of Doom got the chance to interview writer Matt Owens (of Luke Cage fame), on what’s in store for the stealthy assassin, his comic-writing wish list, and more!

Fan favorite Blake Northcott begins her eight issue run on Aspen Comics’ flagship title Michael Turner’s All New Fathom #1 this month. We were happy to hear that Northcott was taking the lead on this comic as she has written a few articles here at Geeks of Doom and is like part of our extended family.

Therefore, having said that, it should come as no shock whatsoever that I chose to review this comic. And without further ado, let’s get to it shall we?
