| Kickstarter Spotlight: ‘System Shock’ Remake
We’ve already seen some gameplay action for System Shock, a remake of the ’90s classic of the same name. The game spawned a direct sequel as well as a little game called BioShock, which is considered a spiritual successor. Now the System Shock remake has taken to Kickstarter to help ensure that it fully gets made and released, while also giving existing fans of the chance to get involved and share their thoughts instead of having a publisher put up the funding and possibly control things. In addition to launching the Kickstarter campaign, a new trailer has also been released along with a gameplay demo video offering a great peek at how things are looking. You can see those below, as well as their awesome pitch video, which is filled with geeky game goodness and some ’90s nostalgia.

| Kickstarter Spotlight: A Different Free To Play ‘Fable’ Game
A few months back now the gaming world was shocked by the news that Microsoft had decided to close down the game studio behind the beloved Fable franchise, Lionhead Studios, and cancel the latest game in the series, Fable Legends. But, as it turns out, Legends was not the only project that was being worked on by Lionhead. A much smaller unannounced game titled Fable Fortune was also being developed. But instead of just tossing it in the garbage, as appears to be the fate of Legends, Microsoft granted permission to those who were developing it to continue working on it under their own new studio, Flaming Fowl Studios. To gather the funds for what could be the last Fable game we see in a long time, they’re looking to fans on Kickstarter. Continue below for more info and to see their pitch video, as well as some gameplay videos.

| Indiegogo Spotlight: ‘The Order’ Movie From Former ‘Power Rangers’ Stars |

The 1st season of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers aired when I was in 1st grade, 22 years ago. For years, I made sure to watch each new iteration of the team, enamored by the colorful suits, the martial arts action, and the fact that young people were entrusted with saving the world. I haven’t watched a new season of Power Rangers in quite some time, but I do, however, follow many of the actors on social media — and for the past month or so, some interesting things have occurred. First, many of the original cast and others changed their Facebook profile images to an intriguing symbol. Next, they began posting cryptic messages and videos, hinting at some sort of joint project. Finally, just last week, the group (including 18 former Power Ranger actors), launched a crowdfunding campaign for a film called The Order. Oh, nostalgia, you’ve made your way back to me. I recently had the opportunity to interview some of the cast about the project and I’m really excited to share it with you all. You can find that and more below.

I have an addiction. Well, more than one, really. But if you take away caffeine, books, collectible toys, and music, then you’ll probably notice that I have a thing for comic books and all of the accoutrements that go along with being a comic nerd. And do you know what’s the best part of being an adult in this day and age? No, not that. No, not that either. Geez, it’s obviously the fact that fans can get in on the ground floor of up and coming comics through crowdfunding! For the record, it was in the title of this article but I’ll give you a pass since I’m excited to be able to introduce you to this Kickstarter Spotlight for Glow #1! See, if I ramble on long enough there’s usually a point to be made. But seriously, this project comes to us from the leaders of the group that has continually kicked ass with their Skies of Fire series, all of which were funded through Kickstarter, too! I think I may have mentioned them a time or two, like here, here, and also here. But with this new comic, they’ve taken an entirely new direction. Focusing in on a pair of siblings, this adventure will explore not only a futuristic world where technology and magic have coexisted but they’ve gone so far as to give it its own language. Prominently featured within the art, this extra feature allows the team to tell stories inside of their primary tale, drawing the reader deeper into the world of Glow.

| Kickstarter Spotlight: ‘The Creators, Volume One: Imagination Is Power’ By Michael S. Bracco
If you have not heard of Michael S. Bracco, you are certainly in for a treat! Previously having published such titles as Novo and Adam Wreck through Alterna Comics, I only discovered Bracco’s work about two years ago while reviewing the first chapter of his web series, The Creators. I was amazed at the quality of storytelling and illustrations that this comics creator was offering – for free – online, and surprised that no publisher had yet snatched his series up. Check out the synopsis and interview with Bracco below.
