Kill List
Blu-ray | DVD
Directed by Ben Wheatley
Starring Neil Maskell, MyAnna Burning, Michael Smiley
Rook Films, X Warp, IFC Films, MPI Media Group
Release Date (US): August 14, 2012 Kill List came to the states with a lot hype behind it. The sophomore feature film outing for British director Ben Wheatley is inaccurately described as a horror movie, but it is really a crime movie with a bit of the occult thrown in for flavor. I had to wait for the home video release of Kill List to see what all the hype was about, but unfortunately, I was still left wondering as the closing credit appeared. Kill List is by no means a bad movie, but there is nothing special about it either.

In the process Loki uses his scepter to take over the minds of agent Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and physicist Dr. Eric Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) so that they may assist him in his plans for world domination. | More Iron Man Anime On The Way With ‘Iron Man: Rise of Technovore’
Love it or hate it, there’s more anime coming to the Marvel universe as Marvel and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced Iron Man: Rise of Technovore, a feature-length film slated for release on DVD in Spring 2013. The story will be written by Brandon Auman, who previously worked on Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Iron Man Armored Adventures. The film is produced by Madhouse. Iron Man: Rise of Technovore focuses on a confrontation between Iron Man and Ezekiel Stane, who develops new bio-technology that apparently outclasses the Iron Man armor. After Stane commits a terrorist attack and sets Tony up to take the fall, Iron Man must evade S.H.I.E.L.D. and find a way to clear his name.

Red Lights
Blu-ray l DVD
DIRECTOR: Rodrigo Cortes
WRITER: Rodrigo Cortes
STARRING: Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver, Elizabeth Olsen, Robert De Niro, Toby Jones
Millennium Entertainment
RELEASE DATE: October 2, 2012 As a fan of director Rodrigo Cortes‘s last film, Buried, which used some extremely crafty filmmaking techniques that allowed it to take place entirely inside of a coffin with Ryan Reynolds, I was very much intrigued by his next movie, Red Lights. The movie is a psychological thriller in the truest sense, following Dr. Margaret Matheson (Sigourney Weaver) and Tom Buckley (Cillian Murphy)—a pair of paranormal researchers who have become quite masterful in revealing the scam that is mind readers and clairvoyants and mediums and the like using “red lights,” the subtle tricks used to sell their so called abilities.
