| ‘Mowgli’ Trailer: Andy Serkis’ Directorial Debut Is Wild
Andy Serkis is perhaps best known for his amazing motion-capture work in the Lord Of The Rings and rebooted Planet Of The Apes film series than anything else in his entire career. But now the master of creating characters like Gollum and Caesar takes a turn behind the camera for Mowgli. While the Serkis had previously done double-duty as actor and second-unit director for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, he’s making his feature directorial debut with Mowgli, a darker adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. The film had which been delayed to work on the technology and presentation, as well as to get some distance from Disney’s recent live-action adaptation. | Writer Jeff Buhler Talks ‘Pet Sematary’ Remake Starring Jason Clarke, John Lithgow
Another new Stephen King adaptation is heating up with Pet Sematary, which recently began casting. First came word that Jason Clarke had been cast in the role of Louis Creed, the father character played in the 1989 movie by Dale Midkiff. Then came word that the great John Lithgow will be playing Jud Crandall, who was played by the late great Fred Gwynne in the previous adaptation. Now one of the writers of this new take on Pet Sematary, Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train), has shared some thoughts on the project. You can see what he had to say about it below.

I continue to be impressed with what Disney is able to offer with the live-action adaptations of their animated classics. New castings and hiring directors have always impressed me. And now the latest news is nothing short of that. Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, IP Man) will now be in the live-action adaptation of Disney’s Mulan. Directed by Niki Caro, the film stars Chinese actress Liu Yifei, also known as Crystal Liu, as the title character. Find out who Yen will be playing in the full story below.

The Paddington films are so tenderly sweet, innocent, and loving. It’s hard to resist their charms. When films are as universally loved as they are, you can be sure that studios want someone like director Paul King on board for one of their projects. Disney, who has been re-envisioning their animated films and turning them into live-action ones, will now bring in King to direct their live-action telling of Pinocchio. More on the story below.
