Though they speedily put those films into development, one of their films just hit a major speed bump. According to new reports, Academy Award winner Sam Mendes will no longer be directing the live-action take of Disney’s Pinocchio. More on the story below.

Jon Favreau‘s The Lion King is already being hailed as one of the most anticipated films of 2019. We saw a small snippet of the live-action take of the animated opening sequence at D23, which pretty much tells us that this will be a visually stunning film. But that was just the beginning. Well, you can put that rumor to rest, as the actress and singer has been confirmed to play her. | ‘Starry Eyes’ Directors Set To Remake Stephen King’s ‘Pet Sematary’
Back in 2010 the writer behind 1408 was hired to work on a remake of Pet Sematary. Obviously that didn’t work out. Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Blu-ray (Collector’s Edition)

Cast: Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames, Jake Weber, Mekhi Phifer, Ty Burrell, Lindy Booth, Matt Frewer, Tom Savini, Ken Foree

Rated R/ Not Rated | 101 / 110 Minutes
Release Date: October 24, 2017 Directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) and written by James Gunn (Slither, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series), 2004’s Dawn of the Dead is a remake of George A. Romero’s 1978 film of the same name. Arguably Snyder’s best film, and one of the better horror remakes of the past 20 years, the 2004 movie honors the original while offering a fresh, innovative take on the zombie subgenre. A mysterious virus is turning people into flesh-eating zombies. Unlike Romero’s slow but relentless living dead, Snyder and Gunn pull from Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later playbook and apply the rabies-like symptoms of the 2002 film’s “Rage Virus” to their reanimated corpses, creating a horde of aggressive, fast-moving zombies that can run, jump, and climb. Essentially, the zombies of the new millennium are CrossFit enthusiasts on bath salts.

It may not look like it at first but Hocus Pocus is part of the Halloween cult classics. Though it may not necessarily be frightful or scary, its quirks and charms and family friendly scares make it an instant favorite. With such a following, one has to wonder why Disney has never bothered following it up with a sequel, especially now that sequels are huge. Well, Disney will be giving fans a brand new Hocus Pocus, just not the ones they are asking for. Reports confirm that there will be a Hocus Pocus remake, however, it will be a TV movie and without the original cast. So how does a film without those ghoulish witches work? Well apparently, The Disney Channel has that figured out, and they’ve hired The Royals‘ Scarlett Lacey to pen the new screenplay with the film’s original movie producer David Kirschner being brought in to executive produce. More on the story below.
