Real Fake History The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises is one of those movies that when it came out, felt epic. The performances, the music, Bane shattering Batman’s back… it was so good, you kinda ignored the gaping plot holes. Then you watched it again and, OH, there they are. These plot holes come up big in Machinima‘s Real Fake History, detailing the battle of Gotham City from Christopher Nolan’s concluding part to his Batman trilogy.

Real Fake History The Battle Of Hong Kong

Today on Machinima’s Real Fake History, we take a deeper look into the Battle of Hong Kong Bay from Guillermo Del Toro‘s 2013 sci-fi action movie, Pacific Rim. One of the more purely fun movies to come out in a long time, the plot revolved around gigantic monsters (Kaiju) coming out of a hole at the bottom of deep Pacific trenches, and wreaking havoc on cities on our west coast, as well as Asian cities. To stop them, we build gigantic human controlled robots to fight the monsters off. It’s hard not to love a movie where a robot swings a ocean liner like a baseball bat into the head of a monster!

Heroes Reborn Header

It all began… with a cheerleader.

I clicked play for the first chapter of Heroes Reborn: Dark Matters web series, the prequel to Tim Kring‘s Heroes Reborn limited series, airing in September, and got goosebumps. The first chapter gives a little history about the EVOs (Evolved Humans), via Hero_Truther (good name), and how it went from miraculous wonder to fearful hate.

Watch the entire web series here below.

Real Fake History Starcraft 2

In the first episodes of Machinima‘s Real Fake History, they’ve tackled epic battles from films like Avengers, TV shows like Game of Thrones, and even video games like “Punchout.” This week, they take the terms “battle” and “games” in a slightly different direction as the focus is on two roommate gamers engaged in an epic battle of “Starcraft 2.”

Check out the episode below.

Real Fake History The Avengers

The Avengers is one of the biggest money-making films of all time, and it actually managed to meet all expectations. It is the benchmark for what comic movies strive to be. So it was only a matter of time before the folks at Machinima covered the climactic Avengers battle in their Real Fake History mockumentaries. When Loki opened a portal allowing the alien Chitauri to fly in to Manhattan, it took “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” to fight them off. This also left the city that never sleeps in ruins. But hey, at least they were able to bring the fight up in every subsequent MCU film.
