SDCC 2016: Check out the ‘Archer’ Panel!

Archer is a glorious politically incorrect animated series on the FX network. If you knew that already, then you probably watch and love the show. Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) is a spy who works for his overbearing mother Mallory (Jessica Walter) and is joined by a cast a zany characters, most of which he is trying to sleep with. The show completed its 7th season this year, and hit San Diego Comic Con last weekend. Creator Adam Reed was there along with the entire cast was on hand including Benjamin, Walters, and Aisha Tyler (Lana), Judy Greer (Cheryl), Amber Nash (Pam), Chris Parnell (Cyril), Lucky Yates (Dr. Krieger), and more.
Here are some highlights from SDCC.

‘Archer’ Gets Extended For Three More Seasons

No matter what they like to call themselves, Archer, Lana, Cyril, and the rest of the gang that used to be spies, drug smugglers, and CIA freelancers cannot seem to stick to one job. Of course, just by doing that takes away from the fun of it all. But as Archer season 7 ended on a huge cliffhanger, it was unclear if FX wanted to explore more of what the worst thing that could go wrong for these former spies was.
But worry not as FX wants to make sure that they get a proper ending as the network has officially confirmed that The show will be extended all the way to season 10. However, there is a small catch. There will be less episodes for each season. More on the story below.

SDCC 2015: ‘Archer’ Panel – What’s Next?

Archer has rocked the cable universe for 6 seasons and the FX show rode into San Diego Comic-Con for a panel discussion, to prep fans for the upcoming season 7. For those who haven’t dabbled in the “Danger Zone†(cue Kenny Loggins!), Archer is a wonderfully crazy, borderline pornographic, and altogether maniacal frenzy of animated drugs, guns, spies, and sex. It focuses on momma’s boy spy Sterling Archer (H. Jon Benjamin), his on-again, off-again love interest Lana (LANA!!!) played by Aisha Tyler, and their partners in secret spy agency ISIS… yeah, well… until they kinda sorta had to change that.
Watch the panel videos below.

Archer
Season 4, Episode 13 – “Sea Tunt: Part 2â€
Directed by Bryan Fordney
Written by Adam Reed & Rick Cleveland
Starring: H. Jon Benjamin, Judy Greer, Amber Nash, Chris Parnell, Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walter, Eugene Mirman, Kristen Schaal, and Jon Hamm.
FX
Air date: April 11, 2013
What always works so well for me in a comedy like Archer is how well developed each and all of the characters are. Guest stars or series regulars, Adam Reed and company nail the interactions between all involved. “Sea Tunt: Part 2” fully capitalizes on some of the exact situations you’d expect to happen when Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) and the rest of the ISIS field agents go to an underwater base. But there are still just enough swerves and twists and turns to make the episode enjoyable and downright hilarious.

Archer
Season 2, Episode 1 – A Swiss Miss
Starring: H. Jon Benjamin, Judy Greer, Amber Nash, Chris Parnell, Aisha Tyler, Adam Reed and Jessica Walter
FX Network
Air date: January 27, 2011
I’ll admit, I didn’t watch much of the first season of Archer. It wasn’t that I didn’t like the show or anything of the sort, I just… didn’t watch it. However, the season two premiere of Archer reminded me of what I loved about the episodes I had seen and made a lot of headway in selling me on the rest of the season.
For those unfamiliar, Archer is a spy parody that focuses on the day to day life of a group of spies at the International Secret Intelligence Service or ISIS which is run by Archer’s mother, Malory Archer (Jessica Walter), but with the humor and great animation style of Adam Reed (creator of Frisky Dingo and Sealab 2021).

 Frisky Dingo
Season 2
Created by Adam Reed, Matt Thompson
Starring Marsha Crenshaw, Stuart Culpepper, Mr. Ford, Killer Mike, Kate Miller
Warner Home Video
Release Date: January 6, 2009
Fans of Adult Swim’s Frisky Dingo should be happy to know that the second season of the series is now out on DVD. Created by Adam Reed and Matt Thompson, who also created Adult Swim hit SeaLab 2021,the series focuses on supervillain Killface and his encounters with his arch enemy Xander Crews aka Awesome X.
When we last left Killface in Season One, his death ray, the Annihilatrix, was activated and Earth looked like it was doomed. Lucky for us, the Annihilatrix was a dud. It stopped working 5 minutes into its launch sequence but not before it pushes the Earth inches away from the Sun, effectively saving us from global warming. Killface is unexpectedly viewed as a hero, so what does one do when they have so much of the public in their favor? Why, you run for President of course.
