| ‘Stand Up Guys’ Trailer: Not Your Old Man’s Last Hurrah Kind Of Film
Hey, young guys are not the only ones who can get drunk, high, and cause disorderly conduct. When it was announced that Christopher Walken, Al Pacino, and Alan Arkin would star in Fisher Stevens’ Stand Up Guys, a lot of people thought it just be the Hangover but with senior citizens. But the trailer shows us something that’s surprisingly unexpected. Check out the trailer here below. Walken, Pacino, and Arkin all star in Stand Up Guys, a film where Val (Pacino) reunites with his old pals Doc (Walken) and Hirsch (Arkin) to go an all-out bender which includes drinking, hard drugs, sexual encounters, and grand theft auto. The twist is that Doc has been hired to kill Val, and Val knows it.

Yeah, because this seems like a logical move. Following the recent move off the project by actor Javier Bardem, Deadline reveals that Universal and Illumination Entertainment have found a replacement to fill the role of villain in their upcoming sequel Despicable Me 2 in the form of one Al Pacino.

Talk about a who’s who of great actors. THR is reporting that the trio of Alan Arkin, Al Pacino, and Christopher Walken have joined the cast of a new action comedy, Stand Up Guys. Helmed by Fisher Stevens, the film follows a couple of criminals in the later stages of life—one having been hired to kill the other—who have one more wild night together involving stolen cars, brothels, and cop chases.

At one time or another, you’ve probably seen one of the paintings that various people in a position of power have had commissioned of themselves. One particularly notable portrait out there is that of the Russian general, which someone has taken to an extremely entertaining new level. George Dawe, an English portrait artist who has painted 329 portraits of Russian generals, uses a digital copy of his work as a basis to add his friends, family, and some celebrities into the paintings using Photoshop. So far he’s done a bunch of celebrities, and most of them look amazing. If we didn’t know who these people were, you wouldn’t think twice about whether most of them were a legit Russian general or not. Some look a little off such as Sean Connery, for example, who looks as though he’s just passed gas in a room full of people, and is pleased that none of them can figure out who it was. | Universal Developing ‘Scarface’ Remake, But Doesn’t Want To Call It A “Remake”
In a remake/reboot/sequel/prequel–happy Hollywoodland, nothing should come as shock or surprise anymore. That said, it still doesn’t mean people will be thrilled to hear about one of these popular types of movie, especially when it involves a classic…or in this case, two of them. It’s being reported that Universal Pictures is developing a new updated take on Scarface, which has had two previous versions of the story made: the 1932 classic starring Paul Muni and directed by Howard Hawks, and the 1983 hit starring Al Pacino and directed by Brian De Palma.
